Bharatesh Scholarship Fund

We believe that no deserving child should be devoid of getting quality education for lack of funds. Bharatesh Education Trust is known for encouraging students from underprivileged sections of the society to seek education. This purpose is largely met through the scholarships and fee concessions to the deserving students from Bharatesh Education Trust. The scholarship scheme began in 2004-2005 with an initial corpus of Rs. 10 lakhs donated by Dr. Sanathkumar Chougule of Australia. Today, this corpus stands at Rs. 300 lakhs out of which Rs. 70 lakhs had been the contribution of Dr. Chougule. A key highlight of this scholarship is that out of the total annual interest accrued, around 50% is used for scholarship disbursal and the remaining is ploughed back into the corpus.

The purpose of human life is to live it to the full and help others do so. Bharatesh Education Trust is involved in scores of endeavors that aim to help and elevate people to higher levels in life through education. The Trust has built solid credibility through its modern and transparent ways of administration which enables donors to repose faith in all its activities. 

We have been blessed with generous donations in the past which have helped us build infrastructure, establish institutions, develop libraries and offer scholarships to hundreds of deserving students. A small help from you has a massive positive impact on the lives of children.

Appeal Letter for Donations

Dear Patron,

In this Diamod Jubilee Year of Bharatesh Education Trust, it is a matter of great pride for us to pause and look back at the journey we have covered as we embark on an ambitious path ahead. Bharatesh Education Trust (BET) was started in 1962 as a lifelong mission for a bunch of young people, who knew education is the only way towards success in life. They started out with a small rented place in Belagavi with just one Kannada- Marathi school (D.Y. Chougule Bharatesh High School). Soon, students and staff grew and BET kept on expanding to meet the ever-growing needs of quality education in this part. Its objective has always been quality education at affordable fees to all the deserving students. 

BET today runs 19 educational institutions across three campuses in and around Belagavi. It covers a gamut of fields from Pre-primary to PG and Ph.D. level across Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Applications, Nursing, Homeopathy and Polytechnic along with 7 schools in English, Kannada and Marathi. 

Why this appeal for donations

Because alone we can do only so much, while  together we can accomplish exponentially. With over 400 staff and 8000 students, the Trust has embarked upon an ambitious plan to provide scholarships to deserving students from primary to PG level. The scholarship corpus today stands at Rs. 3 crores. 50% of the interest accrued every year on this corpus is disbursed as scholarship and the remaining is ploughed back into it. We aim to strengthen this corpus to Rs. 5 crore in the next 5 years. 

BET has an ambitious plan of starting a registered Child Care Center (CCC) where orphaned kids or kids whose parent/s are unable to care for them, can be sheltered and offered adequate educational opportunities, free of cost. This project requires ample funds form patrons like you. 

How you can donate

We understand that a person like yourself is aware of the difference a donation can make to a worthy cause, especially when the people at the helm have robust credibility for undertaking projects. You can donate as an individual donor, as a corporate entity through CSR donations or if you’re residing and working abroad, you can also donate in foreign currency.
